Hunting with Dachshunds

Many people in North America do not realize that the dachshund is the consummate small hunting dog of Europe. NATC encourages the breeding and training of dachshunds that are recognized, respected and used for their specific hunting capabilities in North America. NATC believes that in certain hunting situations, particularly blood tracking, hawking and earthwork, a good hunting dachshund is one of the most useful hunting breeds.
